※　ペンシルヴァニアの架空のプレップ・スクール（寄宿制私立高校）、ウィンソッキ高校を舞台に、ある男子生徒がダンス・パーティのため冗談でハリウッド人気女優をダンス相手に招待状を出す。だが女優のマネージャーは宣伝のため女優が訪問することになりドタバタが繰り広げられるという学園ミュージカル・コメディ Best Foot Forward (1941) の中で最も評判となったと言われる応援歌風スクール・ソング。

このミュージカルからは Ev'ry Time やThat's How I Love the Blues などのトーチ・ソング・スタンダードが生まれている。

舞台ではトミー・ディックスがアンサンブルとともに歌ったが 1943年の映画化においても彼が歌った。

ミュージカルが第二次大戦中の公演だったこともあり Buckle Down, Buck Private (頑張れ二等兵）という替え歌も作られたという。現在も行進曲としてしばしば演奏されている。
