※ ミュージカル A Tree Grows in Brooklyn (1951) で奔放なシシー叔母さん役のシャーリー・ブースが歌った人生に起きてきた風変わりな出来事や落とし穴を切なく歌った、切れのある甘辛リスト・ソング。
ベティ・スミスの自伝的小説 A Tree Grows in Brooklyn （映画化された時の邦題は『ブルックリン横丁）を原作とした同名のミュージカルの歌。原作ではわき役だった恋多きシシー叔母さん役にシャーリー・ブースが演ずることが決まったあと、彼女のコメディセンスに合わせ、舞台は彼女に重きを置いたものに変わったという。
ブロッサム・ディアリーは多重録音でゆったりと歌っている。
