競馬中継が始まる前に、序曲における『嵐』の後の牧歌的な『静寂』での "うがい音" を使った演奏アイデアは後に、日本のクレージーキャッツもこれをまねていた（TVで見た記憶あり）
この曲は後にアルバム 『スパイク・ジョーンズ、クラシックを殺す』"Spike Jones Is Murdering the Classics" (1971) にも入れられたが、この中に入れられたポンキエッリの『時の踊り』"Dance of the Hours" でも競走馬ビートルバムが再び登場している。
★１： 競走馬 Stu Chan が何を引用したのか不明。stu は "バカ" という意味もある。それとも stew のことか。
★２： 安全ピンなので scratch は、取り消す（書かれた字に線を引いて消すことから）とひっかくをかけている。
★３： ビートルバムはアメリカ海軍飛行機アクロバット・ティームのニックネーム Beetle Bomb からの連想らしい。
★４： 日本だと『頭』は牛を数える時に使うが、アメリカではキャベツ玉を言う。
★５： 集団と訳したが pack は犬の群れを言うときに使う。
★６： 一団と訳したが bunch はバナナの一房を言う。
★７： 余裕と訳したが room はアパートの部屋をかけている。
★８： assault and battery で法律用語「脅迫と暴行罪」
★９： 義母がうるさく小言を言っています
★１０： 写真が出てきたので油絵を無理に詰め込んだのだろう
