※ タイトル Dat Dare は that there の舌足らずな発音。元は演奏曲なのでタイトルに特に意味があったわけではないのだろう。
しかし、翌年フォーク歌手のオスカー・ブラウンがテーマ・パートに幼い子供の無邪気な発言を、ブリッジ、アドリブ・パートは子供の成長を見つめる大人の心情をあてはめた巧妙で楽しい歌を歌いジャズ・ソングの人気曲となった。
オスカー・ブラウンの他 メル・トーメ、シーラ・ジョーダン、キャロル・キッド、マイク・キャンベル、トニー・ベネット、リッキー・リー・ジョーンズ、ジェニー・エヴァンスなどが歌っている。

※ Dat Dere と同じアルバムに収録されたファンキーなナンバー This Here は Dat Dere 同様にあまりタイトルに意味はなく、単に識別のための記号のようなものだったのろう。
ティモンズの Moanin' に（タイトルの『嘆き』に『朝』の語呂合わせした）歌詞をつけたジョン・ヘンドリックスが再び取り上げた、この歌詞ではタイトルを人間の心の中にある『信仰心』や『尊厳』といった類のものとして書いたように感じる。
ランバート、ヘンドリックス＆ロスのアルバム The Hottest New Group in Jazz (1962)の録音、アニー・ロスが抜けた後のランバート、ヘンドリックス＆べヴァンのライヴ・アルバム At Basin Street East(1963) の録音があるが他の歌手に取り上げられることはないようだ（彼らのアルバムでは別名の Dis Hyunh とクレディットされていることもある）
