スタンダードでもなく最近だれも取り上げることもなく、ネットで調べても原歌詞は見つからなかったが、
気になる歌があったので、聞き取りによる歌を訳してみた。

※ 語呂合わせで遊んだパーティー・ソング
ルーシー・リードのＣＤにはこの歌を party song と説明されているが言葉遊びを楽しむナンセンス・ソングだろう。
この歌の版権は 1946 年となっているようだが 1940年代に人気のあったポップよりのビッグ・バンド、ケイ・カイザー楽団が最も初期の 1947 年に録音している。（この楽団のヒットとして Three Little Fishes というナンセンスもある）
ネットで調べても原歌詞が見つからなかったので、シール・クレイトン、ルーシー・リード、マット・デニス、スー・ライアン、ケイ・カイザー楽団それぞれの聞き取りによる歌詞を載せた（細部の相違があるので中間的な歌詞を載せてあり、聞き取りも、解釈もいい加減なものだがその程度の軽い歌と思ってもらえれば...）
１番の歌詞は、魚の名前 (shad, trout, bass, octopus, tuna, whale) を使った言葉遊びをしている。
ブリッジにあたる第３連にある musical fish の fish は "野郎" の意味があり、piano tuner は、 tuna
との語呂合わせか。いとこの Ish はもしかしてこの歌を初期に録音したケイ・カイザー楽団に在籍した
人気コルネット奏者 Ish Kabibble を差した楽屋落ちかもしれない。
ちなみに stout も ale もビールの一種、 schoonler はスクーナー船以外に大型ビール用グラス、
whale は大酒呑み、whoper は大ぼら fish tale は（魚釣りがする）大げさな話、を意味する。
２番の歌詞は、鳥の名前などで同様の言葉遊びをしているようだが、
聞き取り＆解釈不明の部分があったので訳せなかった。歌詞に出てくる
jay : カケス、crow: カラス、loon : アビ、duck : カモ などは鳥の名前以外に
俗語として 別の意味合いを含んでいるようだ。
