3：　ウィルバーと彼の弟とは飛行機を発明したライト兄弟のこと
4：　Lizzie : フォードの初期モデル、ポンコツ車の代名詞
5：　eat humble pie : 甘んじて屈辱を受ける、おそれいってわびる。 humble は卑しいという意味だが、 humble pie は豚、鹿の臓物パイを意味し上等な食べ物とは言えないようだ。 (意味は異なるが中国の故事成語「臥薪嘗胆」に発想が似ている気がする)
