★ the twelfth of never とは有名な表現で、「永遠に」を意味する。（出典は不明だが、来ることのない１２日、という意味らしい）
★★ ブルーベルとは、キキョウ科、ユリ科、ムラサキ科の花など、地域によって指すものが異なるが、総じてつりがね形の青い花を総称するようだ。
ブリッジを除くメロディーは、英国古謡をオリジンとしアパラチア山脈地方に残る民謡である "I Gave My Love a Cherry" (別名 "The Riddle") からアダプトしたもの。民謡なので歌詞は様々だが以下にそのうちの一つを訳した。ペギー・リーがアルバム「貝がら」で歌っている歌詞とは多少異なる (参考： Twelfth of Never (wiki) および The Riddle Song (wiki) )
